Journalism
Emily fell in love with journalism in high school, when she and several friends launched an alternative newspaper. In college, she took journalism courses, interned at two magazines, and worked her way up from freelancer to editor-in-chief of a weekly student newspaper.
Since graduating college in 2007, Emily has written for a vast array of national and local publications, both print and online, including USAToday.com, Texas Monthly, The Huffington Post, and About.com. She spent three years as a full-time journalist for NerdWallet.com, where her stories were reprinted in The Chicago Tribune, The Christian Science Monitor, Business Insider, and many other national outlets. One of her biggest accomplishments was writing the May/June 2014 cover story for Consumers Digest magazine. Please see the portfolio page to view some of her best clips.
If you need a writer for your publication who knows how to research, loves finding and interviewing sources, understands the importance of deadlines, and knows AP style inside and out, Emily is your gal. She can tackle anything from short profiles to full-length features.
